"Miss Sweden" narrowly walks the line between banality and fascination. Prize-winning youth book author Sara Kadefors' first film script has been turned into film by director Tova Magnusson-Norling. The story is about Moa, a young woman being exploited in love and by her friends.
Moa lives alone in a run-down house in the country, visiting her parents nearby when she needs things. She works in a factory but fancies herself a graphic designer. She falls in love with amateur musician Conny (Sverrir Gudnason), and when he's kicked out of the rock band he plays in, she forces his mates to take him back. Conny thanks her by dumping her and spreading bad rumors. Sad but perhaps somewhat wiser, Moa sets her eyes on a new, slightly older guy.
Alexandra Dahlström of "Show Me Love" plays Moa.
(Swedish)
